Going Green: Cleaner Coaches

At the end of 2009, ACR Coach submitted an application through Community Transportation, Inc. to the National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program.
This campaign, run under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hopes to achieve the following goals:
- reducing diesel emissions
- maximizing job preservation
- creating and promoting economic recovery through a variety of diesel emission reduction strategies
Grant funds will assist with the replacement of two existing ACR Coach motorcoach vehicles. This project will allow ACR Coach to reduce emissions by 60 percent through improving engine and idle efficiencies on approximately 400,000 miles annually.
